Pruning and Planting

There was a flurry of activity at the corner of Warren and Fourth streets this morning, which inspired both curiosity and concern. The revered pin oaks were being pruned, and the garden in the courtyard in front of Hudson Home was being planted.

A month or so ago, Hudson Home released the conceptual plans and a rendering for the garden that will grace the courtyard in front of their new location.

After all the fear and anxiety about this building and this corner, things seem to be turning out pretty well.

  1. Our anxieties weren't unfounded, but it's good to give credit where it's due.

Over the weekend I stood astounded at the beauty of those two pin oaks: such shapely and healthy trees on our nearly treeless main street.

  2. They have now taken on the appearance of palm trees ... in homage to climate change.
