The Register-Star reports today that there is an opening on the Hudson City School District Board of Education which will be filled by appointment rather than holding a special election: "HCSD takes next steps after board member resigns."
David Kisselburgh resigned his seat on the school board on November 13. He had been elected to serve from May 20, 2014, through June 30, 2019. The person appointed now to replace Kisselburgh would serve until the school district election in May 2018, at which time the appointee could run to be elected by HCSD voters to complete Kisselburgh's entire term until June 30, 2019.
Anyone interested in being appointed to the school board should send a "letter of explanation" to Leslie Coons, Clerk of the Board, Hudson City School District, 215 Harry Howard Avenue, Hudson, NY 12534 or by email to coonsLX@hudsoncsd.org before Thursday, December 14. The board will meet with the candidates during the first half of the regular board meeting on December 18, at 7 p.m., in the library at Hudson Senior High School.
