Another DRI Project Begins

Last week, the DRI project to renovate the plaza at the entrance to Promenade Hill began with a site tour and discussion with Starr Whitehouse, the firm hired to conceptualize and carry out the improvements. Next week, on Wednesday, July 29, the public is invited to join Arterial and Street Plans, the consultants hired to design the connectivity improvements in the BRIDGE District, on a walking tour. The project, now apparently being called "Hudson Connects," involves the part of the city west of Second Street, from South Bay to Dock Street.

The walking tour begins at 4 p.m. at the entrance to Promenade Hill, at Warren and Front streets, and will conclude at 5:30 p.m. According to the City of Hudson website, "This participatory exercise will provide an opportunity for attendees to evaluate the safety, accessibility, and beauty of the streets in the study area."

Participants are required to wear a mask and stay six feet apart and are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water. More information about the walking tour and the project can be found here.

Update: In addition to the walking tour from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., there is now also a workshop from 6:00 to 8:00 at Hudson Hall. You must register to attend, and the number of attendees is limited to 50. It is not entirely clear if registering for one event registers you for both. To register, click here.
