COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there has been one new case of COVID-19, increasing to number of active cases in the county by one, to 15. There were no new recoveries. Six fewer people are in mandatory quarantine, but the number of people in precautionary quarantine remains the same. There is one more person hospitalized with the virus today than yesterday, but there have been no new deaths.
As of 12 p.m. on July 18, 2020:
  • Columbia County has had 37 residents that have passed away from COVID-19.
  • Columbia County has 466 confirmed positive cases.
  • There are 15 active cases of COVID-19 in Columbia County. We are monitoring 29 county residents on mandatory quarantine, and there are 10 on precautionary quarantine.
  • 414 of the 466 cases have recovered from COVID-19
  • 9 of the positive cases are hospitalized, none of those hospitalized are in the ICU
  • We have received 15,366 PCR reports. Please note this number may represent duplicate reports, out of county reports, and multiple nursing home testings.

  1. At 7:30 on Saturday evening, someone has erected a large canopy in their yard at a house on Harry Howard Avenue. There are several large, round tables where people are sitting elbow to elbow without masks. An ideal setting to spread the virus.
