Stewart's Corner

The landscaping at Stewart's is finally complete. You can judge for yourselves if what they delivered is what they promised.

The trees will grow, of course, although July doesn't seem the ideal time for planting them.

On Tuesday, the Common Council will vote on a resolution to enter into a contract with Creighton Manning "to provide professional architectural/engineering to develop detailed construction documents, drawings, and specifications for intersection improvements . . . at the intersection of Green Street and Fairview Avenue." The pedestrian improvements are:
  • Traffic island with landscaping
  • Curb ramps with detectable warning
  • Conduit run, Pull boxes
  • Pedestrian pole with pushbuttons
  • High visibility crosswalks
The improvements also include the complete replacement of the existing traffic signal system.

  1. Is there pedestrian crosswalk digital signs similar to those just up street at Green and Rt 66 that read WALK and DONT WALK

  2. The trees may grow, but there isn't enough of them, particularily on the half facing Green Street, definitely should have had another one or two there. The original design shows a large tree or trees in that spot.
