Mayoral Debate

The time and place have been set for the mayoral debate: Tuesday, October 25, at 6 p.m., in the auditorium of John L. Edwards Primary School. You can read all about it in today's Register-Star.

The debate is being sponsored by the Hudson African American Leadership Alliance (HAALA) and will be moderated by Reverend Ron Grant. According to the article in the Register-Star, HAALA, which was been around for a while, is now describing itself as a "newly formed community-based organization."

The format proposed for the debate involves opening statements by both candidates, followed by three questions asked of each candidate that, according to HAALA, “speak to the diversity and importance to all citizens.” After this, the public will have the opportunity to pose questions to the candidates. The article states that "HAALA has laid out specific rules for proper decorum."
