The Benefits of Museum Membership
The FASNY Museum of Firefighting is one of Hudson's under-appreciated treasures. It's a fascinating place to visit, especially for kids. I learned recently from a reader that the Museum of Firefighting is a member of the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association. Becoming a member of the museum at the $100 level gives you free admission to all the other member institutions in the US and Canada, and there are more than 650 of them. The list of those institutions includes some excellent destinations for day trips from Hudson--the Albany Institute of History & Art, the Bronck Museum in Coxsackie, the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, The Mount in Lenox, the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, the American Folk Art Museum and The Frick Collection in New York City--as well as places to visit on summer road trips. Besides, your membership contribution supports a local cultural resource. What could be better?

Thank you for the kind words concerning the Museum! We do indeed consider the Museum one of Hudson's "hidden treasures." Jamie Smith Quinn-Director
