Warren Street Building Heading for Auction
This building in the 400 block of Warren Street has been moving toward foreclosure and auction for a while now. Last year, litigation kept 405 Warren Street off the list of properties to be auctioned, but it seems the City has now taken title to the building, on which $78,200 is owed in back taxes. An obstacle to selling the building at auction is that there are still people living there. At tonight's Common Council meeting, a resolution will be considered authorizing the mayor to have the tenants evicted. Joe Gentile has the story in today's Register-Star: "City may evict residents from city-owned building."
