Last night, two aldermen were absent for a
critical vote at the regular monthly meeting of the Common Council. In the Register-Star, it was explained
that both were “away on family business.” Gossips has learned the
nature of that business. Alderman John Friedman (Third Ward) was with his wife
in Missouri, where his father-in-law was dying. Alderman Bart Delaney (Fifth
Ward) was out for dinner with his wife, celebrating his birthday.
