Political Road Trips

Anyone up for a little road trip tonight can go to Woodstock to hear Will Yandik and Zephyr Teachout in their first debate. The event is sponsored by the Woodstock and Kingston Democratic committees and will be moderated by Brian Hollander, editor of the Woodstock Times. The debate begins at 7 p.m. at the Woodstock Community Center, 56 Rock City Road in Woodstock.

Tomorrow night, there's another debate farther afield in Oneonta. There you can spend the entire evening listening to political debates. At 7 p.m., the Republican candidates--John Faso and Andrew Heaney--debate, and at 8:30 p.m., Yandik and Teachout meet for their second debate. The debates are sponsored by the League of Women Voters and take place at the Foothills Performing Arts Center, 24 Market Street in Oneonta.

Next week, you can hear Yandik and Teachout debate without leaving the comfort of home. A televised debate between the two Democratic candidates will air on Wednesday, June 15, at 7 p.m., on Time Warner Cable News. The debate will be moderated by Liz Benjamin, editor-in-chief of the blog State of Politics and the host of the political news and interview show Capital Tonight.

The primary that will decide who will be the Democratic and Republican candidates for congressman in the 19th District of New York takes place on Tuesday, June 28. Polls will be open on that day from noon to 9 p.m.
