Back to the Future

The reconstituted Tourism Board seems to be re-imagining itself in the image of the old Arts, Entertainment & Tourism Committee of the Common Council, a committee that was begun in 2000 and existed for eighteen years, until Council president Tom DePietro put an end to it at the beginning of 2018. The perceived similarity motivated me to look back at the minutes of the first AET Committee meeting, which took place in January 2000. The minutes, reproduced below, inspire the observation, "The more things change, the more they stay the same."
