The State of the Parades

It was announced today that the Hudson Flag Day Parade, scheduled for June 13, has been canceled. The statement from the parade committee that appeared on Facebook reads in part:
Current circumstances of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) have presented all of us with unpredictable events that we have never experienced before in our lifetime. The Hudson Flag Day Parade Committee has been monitoring news outlets and government sites in order to stay apprised of the situation. We know that due to these specific circumstances we have to take into consideration the safety of all and continue to take precautions in our professional and personal lives.
For these reasons, the Hudson Flag Day Committee, along with suggestions and concerns from local authorities, have determined, with deep regret, that we must not move forward with the 24th Hudson Flag Day Parade and Festival that was scheduled for June 13th, 2020.
The planning of this event requires an intensive amount of preparation and organizing; and moving forward at this point is not feasible for that date. . . .
On Monday, it was announced that the Memorial Day Parade in Hudson, to take place on Monday, May 25, had been canceled.

In early April, OutHudson announced that the annual Pride Parade, which was to take place on Saturday, June 20, was being postponed until September 26.
