Of Interest

On the front page of today's New York Times there's an article about Marina Abramovic and her plans for MAI here in Hudson: "For Her Next Piece, a Performance Artist Will Build an Institute."

  1. Good news! Hudson must surely yearn for the chance to see Ms A. hang naked on a wall in her soon to be "space" or watch as strangers put a gun to her head and stab her with thorns, or most movingly, see her sit silently for seven hours a day, six days a week, as Hudsonians line up to bask in her aura for $75. As she so wittily says, “Ego is a huge obstacle to art.”

  2. She has other ladies hang naked in her place these days. It would actually be more interesting if she did that -- that would be a performance instead of a replica.
