In Hudson, there's always news of art galleries opening and hoping to open. On Wednesday, October 23, there's a new gallery opening in an unexpected space: the Hudson office of Assemblymember Didi Barrett. Working with the Hudson Opera House, Barrett plans a rotating exhibition of the work of artists from all over the community. The first artist whose work will be on view in Barrett's office-cum-gallery is Hudson's own Dan Rupe.
On Wednesday, Barrett is hosting an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Barrett's office is located in Hudson's East End, at 751 Warren Street.
The photo accompanying this post shows Dan Rupe and his self portrait, at the opening of Local Self Portraits, an exhibition, curated by Richard Roth, that took place at the Hudson Opera House in June 2010.
