The word is out. The Marina Abramovic Institute, which raised $660,000 in a Kickstarter campaign last year, is now hiring. There are four positions open, but none of them pays a salary. Read all about it in Hyperallergic: "Marina Abramovic Institute Wants So Much Unpaid Work."

Clearly, "jobs" should have quotation marks. Nobody should have to work for nothing.

ReplyDeleteInteresting point Vince. When asked, the Museum of Modern Art refused to say if she was paid for her big performance there in 2010. It was rumored that she received $1,000,000.
