A Threat Across the River

Gossips has posted about the proposal to site a construction and demolition waste recycling facility on the riverbank in Athens. This morning, Keep It Greene and Friends of Athens launched a petition addressed to the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation outlining the potential significant adverse environmental impacts of the project and asking that it be identified as a Type 1 Action under SEQR, requiring a Positive Declaration and a full Environmental Impact Statement.
