Today is the last day for sharing your thoughts about the design concepts proposed for the entrance plaza at Promenade Hill. Two concepts were presented by Starr Whitehouse on August 25: The Meander and The Terrace.
The entire presentation of the two concepts can be found here. The survey where you can share your thoughts about the two concepts can be found here. Today, Tuesday, September 8, is the last day the survey will be available.

The design's little yellow circles with crosses through them are all lightpoles?
ReplyDeleteSeems important, yet we're meant to assume.
There is very little information in the presentation and the survey questions seem designed to elicit only positive responses. For example, it asks if the site design provides adequate accessibility for those with disabilities, then scores the question from 1 "disagree" to 5 "agree." Frankly, renderings don't ways provide accurate information, so how should I know? Does that guarantee them a baseline score of 3 if I'm widhy-washy? This whole process has been designed to exclude community members then provide us with a binary choice to sell the illusion that somehow we are part of this decision-making process.
ReplyDeleteGarbage in, garbage out, as the saying goes. At least the pictures are pretty.
I thought the purpose of choosing this company is their historic interest in preserving the Promenade. A meander has absolutely nothing to do with this place.
ReplyDeleteMonday in the early evening there was a DJ playing loud music in the parking lot next to Promenade, a little party for the apartment dwellers. One rap song, easily heard in most of the park, was replete with the N word and the B word (rhymes with itch). Do either of the park improvement options address the ugly noise issues increasingly emanating from the apartment parking lot?
