Virtual Meetings of Interest in the Week Ahead

The last long weekend of summer is over, and let's hope it was a restful one. The week starts off with four meetings on a single day, from morning until night.
  • On Tuesday, September 8, the board of Hudson Community Development and Planning Agency meets at 10:30 a.m. Click here to access the Zoom meeting. The meeting ID is 872 9120 7819; the passcode is Mask321. No agenda is available for the meeting, but on August 26, a special meeting of HCDPA was called by Mayor Kamal Johnson and then canceled. The stated purpose of the special meeting was to discuss the proposal for 75 North Seventh Street. On August 18, the Galvan Foundation announced it was  "withdrawing from proceeding further" with the project, but it is still before the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. The project may come up at the HDCPA meeting.
  • On Tuesday, September 8, the Hudson Industrial Development Agency meets at 1:00 p.m. Click here to access the meeting. On the agenda is the PILOT agreement for 620 Union Street. It is expected that the cost-benefit analysis will be reviewed at the meeting. A public hearing on the project has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at 1:00 p.m.
  • At 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, the Planning Board holds its monthly meeting. It is expected that there will be much on the agenda, but the meeting begins with a public hearing on the proposal to transform 735 Columbia Street into a brewery to be called Columbia Filling Station. The project has received approval in concept from the Historic Preservation Commission. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube at Hudson City Zoom Meetings.

Update: The Planning Board meeting will not begin with a public hearing on 735 Columbia Street. Rather it will begin with an executive session. Everyone who is not a member of the board will be placed in the waiting room until the executive session is over.
  • At 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, the Common Council holds its informal meeting. The hot topic for the evening may be the latest version of the legislation to regulate short term rentals. That document can be found here. Information to access the meeting will be available on the City of Hudson website later today. Scroll down to the calendar.
  • On Wednesday, September 9, the Hudson Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meets at 6:00 p.m. HHA is reportedly pursuing a new plan to construct housing across State Street from Bliss Towers. Unfortunately, the only access HHA is providing to its meetings are audio recordings made available on its website at sometime after the meeting has taken place.
  • On Wednesday, September 9, the Tourism Board meets at 7:00 p.m. Information to access the meeting will be available on the City of Hudson website prior to the meeting. Scroll down to the calendar.
  • On Friday, September 11, the Historic Preservation Commission meets at 10:00 a.m. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube at Hudson City Zoom Meetings.
