The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there has been one new case of COVID-19 and no recoveries, increasing the number of active cases by one to 22. The numbers of people hospitalized with the virus and in the ICU remain the same today as yesterday. There are five fewer county residents in mandatory quarantine, but the number in precautionary quarantine remains the same. Since yesterday, there has not been another death.
With one positive out of 357 test results received, the positive percentage rate for today is o.3 percent. The seven day rolling average, according to Gossips' calculations, is just shy of 1 percent--that is, 21 positives out of 2,143 test results received.
Tomorrow, the CCDOH releases its breakdown of COVID-19 cases by municipality and nursing home, which will provide some insight into whether the 21 new cases in the past week are associated with any one locality in the county.
