There is much happening in the first week of August, and everything takes place in person.
  • On Monday, August 2, the Tourism Board meets at 7:00 p.m. Although the city calendar does not indicate where this meeting will take place, it is assumed it will be at City Hall.
  • On Tuesday, August 3, at 3:00 p.m., Mayor Kamal Johnson holds a public hearing on the proposed local law that would establish a Department of Senior Services. The hearing takes place in the Council Chamber at City Hall.
  • Also on Tuesday, August 3, the Planning Board holds a special meeting at 6:00 p.m. to continue its review of the Colarusso application. The meeting will take place at City Hall.

A public hearing on the Galvan Foundation application for PILOTs and other financial assistance for the two apartment buildings proposed for North Seventh Street has been scheduled for next Tuesday, August 11, at 5:00 p.m., at Hudson Hall. That project may or may not be discussed at this Tuesday's meeting, which takes place in Suite 301, 1 City Centre, at the corner of State and Green streets.
  • Also on Wednesday, August 4, the Common Council ad hoc committee exploring inclusionary zoning meets at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
  • Waterfront Wednesdays takes place from 5:00 to sunset in Henry Hudson Riverfront Park. This week the event includes the Apollonia, Spirit on Hudson, and fishing on the water, and the drum circle at 5:30 p.m. and the Copake Quintet at 8:00 p.m. on land.
