Update on the Galvan Motel

Back in October, it was announced that the opening of the Galvan Motel, which was originally expected to happen in June 2018, had been delayed, owing to what was described as "complications with the septic." At that time, the new anticipated opening was December 2018. Now, nearly six months later, it appears the motel may finally be getting ready to open. Yesterday, Jason O'Toole, director of property management for Galvan, announced on Facebook that "Galvan Houses" was hiring a motel manager, an assistant manager, and a housekeeper.

  2. "Complications with the septic" next to a state-listed creek (on the same property) for a SEQR-worthy project which would never see an environmental review.

At the time people mistakenly blamed the Greenport Planning Board for this when it was the County Supervisors who were responsible all along.

    1. I wonder what problems were pre-existing?

    2. There were reports that the existing septic system was old, and shouldn't be relied upon for increased volumes.
