The new locations are to help patrons at the market maintain proper social distancing. The market organizers explain:
In order for the market to continue serving our community we need to level with you. There were a number of complaints about last week's market. We totally get it--it's alarming to see groups of people gathered out in public right now, whether they're essential services of not. We have had multiple conversations with the Mayor's office about the proper protocol and latest safety precautions. We HAVE to adapt to the needs of the larger community, the market as a whole, and to the law. Otherwise we will have to temporarily SHUT DOWN.
We are requiring each vendor to wear gloves and a mask in order to participate--plus they will have bottles of hand sanitizer for use at their stands. Please be courteous and patient, they are doing their absolute best! . . .
We are encouraging you to continue shopping with us, but make it more efficient. Remember: GRAB and GO! We love you and we understand that the market is social time, but if we don't enforce this we will be shut down. Please help us out by heading home as soon as you're done shopping!
Thankfully, we will have officials (fire and/or police) helping at the market this weekend. They will be making sure that the social distancing guidelines are being following and tending to the flow of traffic.
Please limit the number of people who are shopping with you.
Please keep your interactions with others to a minimum.
Please consider wearing masks and gloves when shopping.
Please ask vendors for help with their product--remember: you touch it, you buy it!
Please stay home if you are not feeling well or if someone in your house is sick.
The following vendors will be in the lot behind St. John's Church: Ardith Mae, Asia Luna, Cedar Flowers, Hawk's Roost, Miller's Crossing, Red Oak Farm, Rock and Raw, Spacey Tracy's Pickles, Trixie's Oven, Mei's Dumplings, Sparrowbush, Koen Bread, and Wild Roots.
These vendors will be at Sixth and Columbia: Blue Star Farm, Martin Farm, Northern Star Farm, Samascott's Orchard.
Remember to practice social distancing when walking between the two locations.
