Seizing an Opportunity to Do Good

Doorstep Deliverers is something everyone should know about. It is a free store-to-door volunteer delivery service for elderly and immunocompromised members of our community. Those needing the service can order what they need from a store that offers pickup, pay for it over the phone or by email, and a volunteer from Doorstep Deliverers will pick up the items and deliver them directly to their doorstep.

Doorstep Deliverers is currently providing service in Columbia County--Ancram, Austerlitz, Old and East Chatham, Claverack, Copake, Craryville, Hillsdale, and Hudson--and in the Berkshires--Alford, Egremont, Great Barrington, Houstonic, Lee, Lenox, Monterey, Pittsfield, and West Stockbridge.

To learn more about the service or to volunteer to be a Doorstep Deliverer, visit their website: http://www.doorstepdelivers.org. Volunteers cannot be exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, shortness of breath) or any other illness, cannot have traveled out of the country in the past 14 days or come in contact with a sick person in the past 14 days, and must have been practicing social distancing.
