In Memoriam: Albert Roberts

Next Saturday, November 13, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., there will be a remembrance and celebration of the life of Albert Roberts, who died earlier this year. His obituary, published in the Register-Star, can be found here. The event will take place at the Albany Institute of History & Art, where Roberts was a member of the Board of Directors and where he had donated many of the art works acquired in his years collecting.

Those who wish to attend should RSVP to Ellie Burhans at burhanse@albanyinstitute.org by Monday, November 8.

The event will be held at the museum. All guests must provide proof of vaccination at check in to attend. Proof of vaccination includes a vaccination card, photo of a vaccination card, or the New York State Excelsior and Excelsior Plus passport. Masks are welcome where social distancing is not possible but are not required.

Directions and information about parking can be found at www.albanyinstitute.org/directions.

  1. Al donated objects, too, which are of great interest to the Institute. On one of our many behind-the-scenes visits, he proudly pointed out DeWitt Clinton's tea set, which he'd donated years earlier.
