COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there have been two new confirmed cases of COVID-19, increasing the number of active cases in the county to 21. The number of people now hospitalized with COVID-19 has increased by two, but there is no longer a COVID-19 patient in the ICU. Since yesterday, no one has recovered from COVID-19, and no one has died from it. These numbers leave us wondering about the spike in positive cases that was reported yesterday
As of 3 p.m. on July 7, 2020:
  • Columbia County has had 37 residents that have passed away from COVID-19.
  • Columbia County has 453 confirmed positive cases.
  • There are 21 active cases of COVID-19 in Columbia County.
  • 395 of the 453 cases have recovered from COVID-19
  • 9 of the positive cases are hospitalized, none of those hospitalized are in the ICU
  • We have received 12,804 PCR reports. Please note this number may represent duplicate reports, out of county reports, and multiple nursing home testings.

  1. If you check out the NYS site, the numbers for Columbia County are higher than the County's site. Maybe that is where the spike is - people who are in the County now, but don't normally live here.
