"It's a Jungle Out There"

More and more, as the pandemic rages on, I'm reminded of the character Adrian Monk and the theme song to the TV series Monk, the title of which I used as the title of this post. If you don't remember the song by Randy Newman, you can hear it here.

Today, Governor Andrew Cuomo added three more states to the travel advisory: Delaware, Kansas, and Oklahoma. There are now nineteen states from which travelers must quarantine themselves for fourteen days upon arrival in New York. They are, in alphabetical order:
  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Arizona
  • California
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Iowa
  • Idaho
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • Mississippi
  • North Carolina
  • Nevada
  • Oklahoma
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Utah
Given the runaway spread of the coronavirus in the United States, we New Yorkers can't cross the border into Canada (or the border into Mexico either) or fly to any country in the European Union. Today, National Geographic published an article exploring where in the world travelers from the U.S. can still go: "American tourists are banned from Europe, but not these countries."
