Another New Business for Hudson

Our hopes that a real-life Willy Wonka was coming to town to set up shop in the Terry-Gillette mansion at 601 Union Street were dashed recently by Mayor Scalera, who told Gossips, through channels, that negotiations had broken down, and there would be no chocolate factory in the Italian villa that was once the Elks Lodge. But that's not the end of the story.

Gossips has it on good authority that the chocolatier who creates heavenly confections for Dean and Deluca may soon be creating them in the building on North Second Street that was once Sacred Heart Church, a.k.a. the Polish Church. The new enterprise won't be competition for our own Vasilow's since there are no plans to open a retail shop.

  2. I love to hear this, this is what we always hoped for, new and interesting businesses opening in Hudson. It seems to be happening, Hudson is a happening place in spite of doom and gloom economy reports, and a short-sighted City and County government.
