Update on the HDC Emergency Task Force

During yesterday's HDC Emergency Task Force meeting, it was announced that, "in an effort to provide expanded support and effectively lobby for additional aid," the Hudson Business Coalition is conducting an online questionnaire to understand how the COVID-19 crisis has affected all types of businesses. All Columbia County based businesses are invited to participate. The questionnaire can be found here. 

Nick Haddad, who is heading up the Quality of Life Task Force, reported that the accountants at Shallo, Galluscio & Bianchi have offered to provide assistance in completing PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) applications. Requests for assistance must be made by email only, and they will be responded to in the order in which they are received. The email address is info@empirecpa.com. Haddad also reported that two businesses that applied last week for PPP funding through the Bank of Greene County have been approved and are now "good to go."

The formation of a new working group of the task force was also announced: a Cultural Task Force to address the issues faced by artists and cultural venues. The group will be headed up by Seth Rogovoy. Rogovoy spoke of some immediate goals of the task force: (1) define what the need is; (2) see what resources exist; (3) plan for the long term. The group, which is seeking more participants, will have its first meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, April 15, at 3:00 p.m., on Zoom.
