COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there has been another death from COVID-19 and one new positive case. The number of people hospitalized with the virus has decreased by one, but the number hospitalized who are in the ICU has increased by one. Four more people have recovered from COVID-19, and test results for 56 more Columbia County residents have been received.
As of 3 p.m. on May 18, 2020:
  • Unfortunately, Columbia County has had a 27th resident that has passed away from COVID-19
  • 345 positive cases of COVID-19
  • 160 of the 345 cases have recovered from COVID-19
  • 16 of the positive cases are hospitalized, 2 of those hospitalized are in the ICU
  • We have received 3,167 test results completed for Columbia County residents
  • 153 residents are under mandatory quarantine and 5 under precautionary quarantine

  1. I'm curious as to how statistics are being tabulated. Here it is says 33 deaths in Columbia County: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/new-york/
