COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there have been two more deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total in Columbia County to 22. Of the 22, 17 have been residents of nursing homes--10 at Pine Haven, 7 at Barnwell. There have been no new positive cases of COVID-19, and six more people have recovered from the virus. The number of people hospitalized was been reduced by two--a reduction undoubtedly due to death. Since yesterday, test results for 41 Columbia County residents have been received.
As of 3 p.m. on May 11, 2020:
  • We are sad to report our 21st and 22nd community members that have passed away from COVID-19. We have now had 5 community deaths, 10 were residents of Pine Haven, and 7 were residents of The Grand at Barnwell.
  • 326 positive cases of COVID-19
  • 133 of the 326 cases have recovered from COVID-19
  • 4 of the positive cases are hospitalized, 1 of those hospitalized are in the ICU
  • We have received 2,449 test results completed for Columbia County residents
  • 180 residents are under mandatory quarantine and 11 under precautionary quarantine
