In his daily COVID-19 briefing today, Governor Andrew Cuomo noted that what was keeping the Capital Region from reopening was assembling the needed "army" of contact tracers. It was determined that 383 were needed. As of today, 430 have been identified. The tracers are being trained today. The Capital Region, which includes Columbia County, will reopen tomorrow, May 20.
Reopening means that businesses identified as Phase 1 businesses—construction, manufacturing, and select retail (with curbside pickup)—may resume operation.
