Virtual Meetings in the Week Ahead

We are in the tenth week of social distancing, and the Common Council now has the technology to do its meetings on Zoom instead of providing only live audio stream on WGXC. Be aware that, according to Council president Tom DePietro, the meeting IDs and passwords for each meeting will not to made public until one hour before the meeting. 

• At 1:00 p.m. today, Monday, May 18, Columbia Comeback holds an Industry Focus Group meeting for Phase 1 businesses--construction, manufacturing, and select retail with curbside pickup. Click here to access the meeting. The meeting ID is 881 0107 7376.  
• On Monday, May 18, the HDC Emergency Business Task Force meets at 3:00 p.m. Click here to access the meeting. The meeting ID is 884 8032 6330; the password is 658221.

The HDC Emergency Business Task Force meeting has been canceled.

• At 6:00 p.m., on Monday, May 18, the Planning Board will hold a special meeting to consider the proposal to expand the outdoor space at BackBar, 347 Warren Street. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube at Hudson City Zoom Meetings. The meeting ID is 886 2334 6219; the password is 470803. 

At this meeting, the Planning Board will also consider an application from Verizon Wireless for a special use permit to install wireless communication equipment on the roof of Providence Hall.

• On Tuesday, May 19, at 1:00 p.m., Columbia Comeback holds an Industry Focus Group meeting for Phase 2--professional services, finance/insurance, retail, administrative support, real estate/rental leasing. Click here to access the meeting. The meeting ID is 869 9242 3721.
• At 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, the HDC Cultural Task Force holds its weekly meeting. Click here to access the meeting. The meeting ID is 972 7312 5560; the password is 009933.
• Also on Tuesday, May 19, the Common Council Finance Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. and the full Council holds its regular monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. These meetings are expected to take place on Zoom, but meeting IDs and passwords will not be released until a hour prior to each meeting.
• On Wednesday, May 20, at 1:00 p.m., there is a Columbia Comeback Industry Focus Group meeting for Phase 3--restaurants, food services, and hotels. Click here to access the meeting. The meeting ID is 815 6571 5826.
• Also on Wednesday, May 20, a meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., but there is no indication that this meeting will actually take place.
• On Thursday, May 21, the HDC Hospitality Task Force holds its weekly meeting at 3:00 p.m. Click here to access the meeting. The meeting ID is 857 3559 2807; the password is 917586.
• Also on Thursday, May 21, the Common Council Economic Development Committee meets at 6:00 p.m. The audio stream is available here. Information for accessing the Zoom meeting is expected to be available an hour before the meeting.
• On Friday, May 22, the Historic Preservation Commission continues the public hearing on landmark designation for 241 Columbia Street, the former Shiloh Baptist Church. The public hearing begins at 9:00 a.m.

At 10:00 a.m., the HPC holds its regular meeting, at which it is expected the commission will continue its review of the proposed restoration of 502 Union Street. The agenda for the meeting and information for accessing the Zoom meeting for the public meeting and the regular meeting are not yet available.
