COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health was released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there have two more deaths from COVID-19. According to the Albany Business Review, the Capital District Region has met all but one of the seven metrics that are a prerequisite for reopening. The region has not seen the required decline in deaths. 

Also, since yesterday, there have been two more positive cases and three more people hospitalized, but there have been three recoveries. Test results for 72 Columbia County residents have been received in the past day.
As of 3 p.m. on May 12, 2020:
  • We are sad to report our 23rd and 24th community members that have passed away from COVID-19.
  • 328 positive cases of COVID-19
  • 136 of the 328 cases have recovered from COVID-19
  • 7 of the positive cases are hospitalized, 1 of those hospitalized are in the ICU
  • We have received 2,521 test results completed for Columbia County residents
  • 177 residents are under mandatory quarantine and 11 under precautionary quarantine
