NY FORWARD

Today's COVID-19 briefing by Governor Andrew Cuomo was all about reopening. Two regions--the Finger Lakes and the Mohawk Valley--will be ready to begin Phase 1 of the reopening when the NY ON PAUSE order expires on Friday. The other regions are at different places when it comes to meeting the requirements of having infection rates on the decline and having testing and tracing capacity in place.

Cuomo introduced today a book called NY FORWARD: A Guide to Reopening New York & Building Back Better. That book can be found online here.

Cuomo also indicated that starting today the New York State Department of Health will begin reporting the hospitalization rate for each of the ten regions in the state. The hospitalization rate is one of the factors in determining if a region is ready to reopen. Columbia County is part of the Capital District Region.
