Time and Again

The long and varied history of Hudson is reflected in the long and varied history of its buildings. This afternoon, I stumbled upon this picture of 202 Mill Street at PhotobyGibson.com. It shows the house that stands on the northeast corner of North Second and Mill streets, in about 1961, when it appears the ground floor was a market of some sort.

Because I see this house every day, when I take Joey to the dog park, the picture inspired me to recount the building's recent past and its present. The picture below shows the house around the time it was seized for nonpayment of property taxes and sold at auction in 2017.

This picture shows the house today, after an extensive and impressive restoration.

  1. Hats off to the restorers! If only we could stop the outside corporate remuddlers like Galloway.
