COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there have been five new cases of COVID-19 and nine recoveries, which should mean a decrease in the number of active cases, but the CCDOH is reporting 72, the same as yesterday. There are two more county residents hospitalized with the virus today than yesterday, and there is one in the ICU. It has been a week now since there has been a death from COVID-19 in Columbia County.

With five positives out of 125 test results received, the positive percentage rate for today is 4 percent. The seven day rolling average, according to Gossips' calculation, is 2.2 percent--that is, 71 positives out of 3,164 test results.

  1. Listening to Cuomo today, it sounds like hospitalization rate, rather than positivity rate, is the State's primary measure. I hope the Dept. of Health will start reporting that number.
The Capitol District Region is currently considered "stable", but at what point is considered "unstable"?
