Disassembly on South Front Street

We've heard the words disassemble and reassemble used in reference to historic structures in the past, and as we have seen, the "reassemble" part never happens. Right now, the red barn across from the train station is coming down.

The good news is that this time the reassembly is really going to happen.

In October, the Historic Preservation Commission granted a certificate of appropriateness for the project which involves deconstructing the building and reconstructing it, using the original elements, on a new foundation, in such a way that the building will be an energy efficient, net zero envelope.
