The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there have been, according to the CCDOH, thirteen new cases of COVID-19, but if you subtract the total number of cases reported yesterday from the total number reported today, the difference is only ten. There have also been two recoveries. If the number of new cases is thirteen, which is what the CCDOH is reporting, it would mean the number of active cases had increased by eleven to 78. If there were ten new cases, the number of active cases would increase by eight to 75. The CCDOH, however, is reporting only 72 active cases, an increase of just five from yesterday. The number of county residents hospitalized with the virus and in the ICU remains the same as yesterday. It has been almost a week now since the last death from COVID-19 was reported in Columbia County.
The number of test results received in the past 24 hours is 395. If there were thirteen new positives, the positive percentage rate for today would be 3.3 percent. If there were ten, the positive percentage rate would be 2.5 percent. The seven day rolling average, according to Gossips' calculations using the total number of cases reported today, is 2.4 percent--that is, 73 positives out of 3,039 test results.
The New York Forward dashboard today is reporting fourteen positives out of 316 test results for a percentage positive rate of 4.4 percent. The seven day rolling average reported there is 2.3 percent.
