The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there have been seven new cases of COVID-19 and nine recoveries, reducing the number of active cases by two to 63. There are two fewer county residents hospitalized with the virus today than yesterday, but one remains in the ICU.
With seven positives out of 605 test results received, the positive percentage rate for today is 1.1 percent. The seven day rolling average, according to Gossips' calculations, is 2.2 percent--that is, 73 positives out of 3,314 test results.
Tomorrow, the CCDOH releases its breakdown by municipality and nursing home, and maybe that will provide some insight into the spike in new cases reported yesterday.
