After taking Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day off, the Columbia County Department of Health returned to reporting the COVID numbers today. Since Saturday, there have been 26 new cases of COVID-19, and one more death, bringing the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Columbia County to 83. The number of active cases being reported today is seventy fewer than the number reported on Saturday, suggesting that, since Saturday, 95 more people are now considered to be recovering from the virus. There are two more county residents in mandatory quarantine today than on Saturday, but there are two fewer hospitalized with the virus. There is one person still in the ICU.
The New York Forward dashboard is reporting a positivity rate for Columbia County yesterday of 6.3 percent and a seven-day average of 2.9 percent. By comparison, the daily positivity rate for the Capital Region is 3.5 percent and the seven-day average is 2.3 percent.
