The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Disappointingly, we are back in the double digits when it comes to new cases. Since yesterday, there have been eighteen new cases of COVID-19, but there are eight fewer active cases today than yesterday, suggesting that 25 more people are now considered to be recovering from the virus. Eleven more county residents are in mandatory quarantine today than yesterday, but there are six fewer hospitalized with the virus. One of those hospitalized is in the ICU. Since yesterday, there has not been another death from COVID-19 in Columbia County.
The New York Forward dashboard is reporting a positivity rate for Columbia County yesterday of 6.2 percent--the highest in the Capital Region--and a seven-day average of 3.3 percent. By comparison, the daily positivity rate for the Capital Region is 1.7 percent and the seven-day average is 2.1 percent.
