How Do You Feel About Reopening?

Yesterday, the Hospitality Task Force, part of HDC's Reimagine Hudson initiative, launched a Consumer Sentiment Survey to help them understand local residents' concerns about safety and cleanliness as we approach a time when the PAUSE order may be lifted in our region. In an effort to support both Hudson residents and Hudson businesses, the survey's goal is "to gather information from residents of Hudson and surrounding communities, gauging the economic impact of COVID-19 on local households, changes in spending habits, and attitudes towards patronizing local businesses after the PAUSE order is lifted."

To access the survey, click here. There is an incentive for completing the survey: One participant will be chosen at random to receive a $100 gift certificate to Wm. Farmer and Sons.

  1. One would think that the Mayor and Common Council would be leading with this same type of simple research.

    1. In fairness to the folks at City Hall, this is not the kind of thing to which city government is particularly well-suited. The survey itself would likely get weighed down by politics, and the results would be less useful for the small businesses who need to understand how the sands are shifting underneath their feet, and what adaptations they need to make to survive in the new environment and keep their employees and customers safe and healthy. HDC is particularly suited as the vehicle for this kind of data gathering and dissemination.

Having said that, the survey only takes about five minutes to complete, and a possible $100 gift card to a great local restaurant is a pretty nice inducement. Act now!

    2. I guess my comment is more driven by the fact I can't see that the city government has any plan - or is gathering any real data to create a plan for addressing the current and coming economic crisis the city is facing.
