  1. Speaking of applications for grants, I learned today that an organization called Parks and Trails New York is now accepting applications for grants that could be used to improve Oakdale Park, Seventh Street Park, and Furgary. I would really like to see the hiking trail at Oakdale restored, as well as a rack to store canoes and kayaks. It probably wouldn't require a large grant. Here's a link to the Parks & Trails website: https://www.ptny.org/our-work/support/park-trail-partnership-program

  2. In addition, Historic Hudson could seek funds for Bronson Park.

  3. Hello! I saw that. A park has to be a state park or have an existing MOU with the DEC, and the group seeking funding has to be a registered 501 c3. In the case of Oakdale, we use a fiscal sponsor which has 501c3 status--the CLC--but don't have the status ourselves as we don't have funding for any of the legal processing or insurance. Additionally, neither Oakdale or 7th street is a state park or has an MOU with the DEC. Nonetheless, I've reached out to the program and signed up for a webinar. (I'm the founder of Friends of Oakdale Lake btw.) -Tamar
