COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today, Monday, November 2. Since yesterday, there have been nine new cases of COVID-19 and seven recoveries, which by my calculation increases the number of active cases by two to 78, but the CCDOH is reporting only 77. There are two more people hospitalized with the virus today than yesterday, and the number in the ICU remains the same. Eight fewer county residents are in mandatory quarantine today than yesterday, but there are now two in precautionary quarantine. There has not been another death from COVID-19 in Columbia County since Friday, October 30.

With nine positives out of 473 test results received, the positive percentage rate for today is 1.9 percent. The seven day rolling average, according to Gossips' calculations, is 1.06 percent--that is, 45 positives out of 4,246 test results.
