COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today, and the worst of the bad news is that there has been another death from COVID-19. There have also, since yesterday, been nine new cases of COVID-19 and twelve recoveries, which, according to the CCDOH, reduces the number of active cases by nine to 102. There are two fewer people hospitalized with the virus today than yesterday, but three more of them are in the ICU.

With nine positives out of 204 test results received, the positive percentage rate for today is 4.4 percent. The seven day rolling average, according to Gossips' calculations, is 2.8 percent--that is, 72 positives out of 2,560 test results.
