COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today, and things appear to be getting worse. Since yesterday, there have been seventeen new cases of COVID-19 and four recoveries increasing the number of active cases by thirteen to 103. Five more people are hospitalized with the virus today than yesterday, but the number in the ICU has not changed. Thirteen more county residents are in mandatory quarantine, and the number in precautionary quarantine remains the same. There has not been another death from COVID-19 in Columbia County since Wednesday, October 28. 

With seventeen positives out of 564 test results received, the positive percentage rate for today is 3.0 percent. The seven day rolling average, according to Gossips' calculations, is 2.3 percent--that is, 69 positives out of 3,008 test results.
