Where the New COVID Cases Were This Week

As it does every Friday, the Columbia County Department of Health has released its breakdown of COVID cases by municipality and nursing home. With 85 new cases this week, there were very few localities that did not see new cases, but among those were the nursing homes, which have been places of concern in the past: Barnwell, Ghent Assisted Living, Livingston Hills, and Pine Haven.

The places with the largest number of new cases were Claverack, Ghent, and Greenport, which each had nine new cases. These were followed by Livingston with seven; Chatham, Hudson, and Valatie each with six; Kinderhook with five; Ancram, Clermont, and Stockport each with four; Canaan, New Lebanon, and Stuyvesant each with three; Stottville with two; and East Chatham, Elizaville, Germantown, Hillsdale, and Philmont each with one.

As always, in the list below, the first number is the number of cases reported last Friday, and the second number is the number of cases reported today. These are the total number of cases since the first case was reported in Columbia County on March 20. The number of active cases in the county today is 120.
