COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. Since yesterday, there have been five new cases of COVID-19 and fifteen recoveries, reducing the number of active cases by ten to 90. There are now three fewer people hospitalized with the virus, although the number in the ICU remains the same today as yesterday. There are 21 more county residents in mandatory quarantine today than yesterday, but the number in precautionary quarantine remains the same. There has not been a death from COVID-19 in Columbia County since Wednesday, October 28.

With five positives out of 299 test results received, the positive percentage rate for today is 1.7 percent. The seven day rolling average, according to Gossips' calculations, is 2.1 percent--that is, 59 positives out of 2,816 test results.
