Meetings of Interest in the Week Ahead

The election is what's on everyone's mind this week, but there are a few other things happening.
  • On Monday, November 2, the Board of Estimate and Apportionment (BEA) meets at 1:00 p.m. The BEA has begun its second review of the proposed budgets for 2021, the one where, without the department heads present, they go through the budgets with a fine-tooth comb looking for things that can be cut. The budget scheduled to receive such scrutiny today is that of the Department of Public Works. To join the meeting, click here.
  • At 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 2, Hudson Community Development and Planning Agency (HCDPA) holds a special meeting to discuss the anti-displacement grant. Phase 2 of the grant process has been reached, and it is now time to seek funding to implement the chosen anti-displacement strategy, so the meeting may be useful in learning what that chosen strategy is. The link to the Zoom meeting should be posted on the City of Hudson website before the meeting begins. Scroll down to the calendar.
Note: The link to this meeting has not been made available.
  • Also on Monday, November 2, the Tourism Board meets at 7:00 p.m. The link to the Zoom meeting should be published on the City of Hudson website prior to the meeting, but the last time the Tourism Board met, on October 12, it wasn't. There is no way of knowing if it will be posted today or not.
  • Tuesday, November 3, is Election Day. If you haven't already voted, the polls are open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. The polling places in Hudson are: St. Mary's Academy, 301 Allen Street, for Wards 1, 2, and 3; Columbia County Office Building, 401 State Street for Ward 4; and the Central Fire Station, 77 North Seventh Street, for Ward 5.
  • Assuming there is life after the election and the country hasn't imploded, on Wednesday, November 4, the Board of Estimate and Apportionment (BEA) meets at 1:00 p.m. to review the proposed 2021 budget for the Police Department. The link to the Zoom meeting should be published on the City of Hudson website. Scroll down to the calendar.
  • At 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, the Common Council Youth, Education, Seniors, and Recreation Committee holds its regular monthly meeting. The link to the Zoom meeting should be published on the City of Hudson website. Scroll down to the calendar.
  • Also on Wednesday, November 4, the Conservation Advisory Council meets at 6:00 p.m. The link to the Zoom meeting should be published on the City of Hudson website. Scroll down to the calendar.
  • Finally, on Wednesday, November 4, the Common Council Housing and Transportation Committee meets at 6:45 p.m. The link to the Zoom meeting should be published on the City of Hudson website. Scroll down to the calendar.

  • On Friday, November 6, the Historic Preservation Commission meets at 10 a.m. The link to the Zoom meeting should be published on the City of Hudson website. Scroll down to the calendar.
