Virtual Meetings in the Week Ahead

The week after the Fourth of July is a relatively quiet one in terms of meetings, but there are a few noteworthy ones among them.
  • Today, Monday, July 6, the Tourism Board holds a special meeting to consider more applications for funding. Click here to join the Zoom meeting. The meeting ID is 874 9306 7577; the password is 030169.
  • On Tuesday, July 7, the Conservation Advisory Council is scheduled to meet at 6:00 p.m. The information needed to access the Zoom meeting has not yet been made available.
  • On Wednesday, July 8, the Hudson Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meets at 6:00 p.m. Click here for information to access the Zoom meeting.
  • On Thursday, July 9, the HDC Emergency Hospitality Task Force is scheduled to meet at 3:00 p.m. Click here to join the Zoom meeting. The meeting ID is 857 3559 2807; the password is 917586.
  • On Friday, July 10, the Historic Preservation Commission meets at 10:00 a.m. At this meeting, the commission is expected to discuss the proposed designation of 241 Columbia Street, constructed in c. 1920 as Shiloh Baptist Church.

At the last meeting, HPC chair Phil Forman observed, "The commission as a body has not had the opportunity to discuss Shiloh without public interference." The public can audit Friday's meeting, but there will be no public comment. Victoria Polidoro advised the HPC, "If you have legal questions, we can have an attorney-client session." which would be closed to the public.
There is great pressure on the HPC to recommend the designation of the church building as a historic landmark. The current owner of the building has vowed to sell it if it is designated. This post provides a summary of the situation: "The Battle of Shiloh."
